Album news and laser show

// Updated 04.04.09 //

In interviews in recent days Jarre has stated that the upcoming tour will feature laser show and a new sound system (may be surround, but no details have been mentioned). If it's true that the laser will be a part of the show, this will be the first time since 1981 that laser will play a leading role in a Jarre concert.

Jarre further confirms that the music on the tour will be many of the old hits but also several brand new tracks, some of which will appear in a new album. It has also been hinted that Jarre would like to use mainly analog synths, including the newer songs, but that digital synths can be used where it becomes difficult or impossible to use analog synths. In these days he is arranging the music to the Tour, with the exception of promoting and visit in Los Angeles for the cremation of Maurice. Staff members in the studio is currently Francis Rimbert, Dominique Perrier and Claude Samard, but the line-up for the tour has not been confirmed yet.

Jarre also confirms that there will be a world tour that will last till the end of 2010, so it may be that he will play in Asia, the United States and / or South America, either in the fall or next year.

In an interview with the Hungarian newspaper Metropol Jarre says that he is planning to release a new album before Christmas 2009. "This album," says Jarre, "will may be a double album based on tests" he does during the tour this summer. He is going to observe the reaction of the fans, and select songs based on feedback. "In this way, the tour is experimental", Jarre says, because most artists finish an album first and then touring to promote the album.

As usual, details and concepts can change along the way!
