It is the soundtrack to the film with the same name starring Alain Delon. In 2003 the album was re-released on CD by Disques Dreyfus.

The soundtrack album was also released in Italy under the name La Mia Legge. The album cover is therefore slightly different and a highly sought after item among collectors.
